Honda NT650 Hawk GT 1989 Jet Kit

The Honda NT650 Hawk GT 1989 is a twin carburetor motorcycle.
It requires 2 Main Jets  and 2 Pilot Jets.
Select the sizes for Main and Pilot jets as needed ( see Jet Sizing Info Below), add a second set of Main jets of a different size and needle shims are optional.

Stock main jets size is 1x132 and 1x138, stock pilot jets size is 2X42.

Jet Sizing Info

motorcycles with stock engine and with stock air intake and stock exhaust system . stock Pilot Jets, one size larger Main jets and optional one needle shims for each carburetor.

motorcycles with stock or lightly modified engine with improved air intake using stock air intake box and baffled aftermarket exhaust or lightly modified exhaust. one size larger Pilot Jets, two sizes large Main jets and one needle shim for each carburetor.

motorcycles with stock or lightly modified engines with individual air intakes and baffled aftermarket exhaust system. one size larger Pilot Jets, three or four sizes larger main jets and one needle shim for each carburetor.

motorcycles with lightly modified engines with individual air intakes and non-baffled exhaust system. two size larger Pilot Jets, a set of five or six sizes larger Main Jets and one or two needle shims for each carburetor.

A size larger jet is the next available size. example: one size larger of a 105 is a 108, one size larger of a 40 is a 42, two sizes larger of a 150 is a 155.

Needle shims are used to raise the stock needle to allow for better mid range RPM performance, perfect and cost effective compared to expensive aftermarket needles.

Jet Kit Installation

Installing jets is a straight forward procedure. You basically replace the main and pilot jets in your motorcycle with the main and pilot jets of the jet kit.

The needle shims are installed on the slide needle. To do this, remove the needle from the slide and add the shim to the needle. Now reinstall the needle with the shim on the slide.

Take the opportunity to clean the carbs. If you have two or more carbs, synchronizing the carbs is advised.

If we mailed you incorrect jet types or sizes different from your order, we will replace these at no cost to you.
